Things are just starting to get set up. We’re looking for bloggers for each NHL team. If you are interested in joining a community of hockey bloggers here, send me an email nhlfan [at] nhlfanblog [dot] com.
We’ll get things started if we don’t have bloggers for each team, but hopefully we can have everyone covered.

I am a Vancouver Canucks fan and I know the team is not perfect. But I have a big bief with the game tonight against Edmonton. The referring is absoultely horrendous. If a Canuck so much as touches an Edmonton player they get a penalty. Yet the Edmonton players have hooked, tripped, pushed Canuck players into their own goalie, and held the Canuck players sticks and not a thing is called. Edmonton even brought out 2 heavy hitters just for this game, and they did fight in the first period, they started the fights but a Canuck player got 17 minutes in penalties, the 2 Edmonton players got 5 minutes each. Edmonton has had 5 on 3 a minimum of 4 seperate times.
Now when I watch a game I expect the actual players to determine the outcome, not the referres, and when the referrering is this one sided it ruins the game for all fans who are watching the games. I knew after the first period that Vancouver didn’t stand a chance of winning this game.
Since Vancouver is higher in the standings than Edmonton I really don’t think the Canucks have to resort to the underhanded tactics that Edmonton has obviously resorted to for a win.
It really is sad that the referres have such an influence on some games.
